Designed in…?

A couple of weeks ago Businessweek outlined the US’ transition from a knowledge economy to a creativity economy (see this post). According to Businessweek the new core competences in the US economy are creativity, imagination and innovation. It is no longer just about knowledge resulting from scientific research.

Following Apple’s example, then, we would expect to find more and more products labelled with ‘designed in the US’ in near future. However, the US are not the only country trying to exploit the creativity economy. Read this article to find out how China is entering the creativity era. Perhaps, within a few decades from now all familiar ‘made in…’ labels will have been replaced by their ‘designed in…’ counterparts.
