New UNESCO creative city

In 2004 the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) launched a creative cities networks “designed to provide a global platform for local endeavor”. Or, to put it simply, a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences related to urban development.
The network is now also granting official creative city status. Santa Fe, USA, is one of the first places to become a UNESCO creative city. To apply for creative city status, cities just have to complete eight pages of questions that can be found here.
According to their website, the network is eager to welcome new creative cities.
